Using the B&M scanner app, Melissa White noticed that the George Wilkinson mini casserole dishes, which were priced at £3 on the shelf, were scanning for pennies.

Thrilled with her finds, Melissa took to social media to alert other shoppers.

Posting on B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More, a private Facebook group with a staggering 703,500 members, Melissa shared pictures of her haul of discounted finds.

She said: “Bargains of the day!”

The B&M fan then confirmed that thanks to the chain’s app, which you can download on your phone, she found the dishes at a reduced price.

She added: “Dishes marked as £3 each, scanning at 10p each!”

Not only this, but Melissa also nabbed a Super Mario Nintendo Switch case, as she wrote: “Switch case scanning at £5.”

Melissa stocked up on five of the casserole dishes, costing her a total of 50p.

The haul should have cost Melissa £15, but thanks to the app, Melissa was able to save herself a whopping £14.50.

Melissa later confirmed that she found the cheap buys in a B&M store in Pembroke Dock, in Wales.

At the time of writing, Melissa had shared her post just 18 hours ago, but it had clearly impressed many, as it had quickly amassed 122 likes and 42 comments.

Social media users were left stunned at Melissa’s huge haul of goodies and many were eager to express this in the comments.

The B&M app

The B&M app allows shoppers to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

The scanner lets you see if the item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift, or they’re labelled “big brands” and “big savings”.

The B&M scanner is located on the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it on the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve got the app, click on the “scan” button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will then bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you’ll need to use to scan barcodes.

Once scanned, the app will then automatically bring up the item’s price – this is when you’ll know if it is reduced or not.

One person said: “I need!”

Another added: “I want 10p dishes!”

Meanwhile, others tagged their friends and loved ones to alert them to the discounted items.

One shopper told a Facebook user: “Get to B&M.”

Whilst a second asked a B&M shopper: “Grab me some if they’re 10p.”

At the same time, another bargain hunter asked a family member: “If you find some, get me a couple.”
